Our Church ... actually, Jesus's Church

Red Bench Bible Church is a local gathering of Christ followers and small part of the whole family of God. Acts 2:42 shows the first church devoted to and practicing four activities or principles generally stated. Red Bench models that church and those principles in our practice. “And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to the prayers” (Acts 2:42, HCSB).

TEACHING

Through the Bible, God's word written, He has communicated Himself to those who read it. The teaching of the Bible (Bible study and preaching) explains the meaning of what He wants us to know about Him, humanity, every individual, the heavenly realm, the world, and the end. We teach the Bible so that those who know Christ and those who do not can come to know the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

FELLOWSHIP

The fellowship is with the family of God and comes by way of the Holy Spirit indwelling each follower of Jesus Christ. Our fellowship with each other is because individual believers are in peaceful fellowship with God because of God's forgiveness of our sins, which was provided by the sacrifice of the Son of God on the cross.

BREAKING OF BREAD

Jesus has told His followers to remember Him by the event of His substitutionary and atoning sacrifice. Jesus's death on the cross is a historical event which brought about forgiveness of all humanities' sins. Three days later He resurrected bodily from the dead as a confirmation of His successful sacrifice before God the Father. Believing God and receiving Jesus (faith in Christ) applies the grace, mercy, and forgiveness of God to any person who believes Jesus.

PRAY

God loves His children and loves when they converse with Him. By faith Jesus's followers speak with God in mind and word ... He listens and responds in His will.
